Wiring and Cabling

Need help with your network infrastructure? LINKTECH can help. We design, install and maintain networks. Additionally, we provide complete cable installation services and system integration. LINKTECH will help you decide which type of infrastructure to install. Should it be category 5e or 6? Fiber-optics? Do you need Switched, Ethernet 10MB/100MB/1GB? We will meet with you to prepare a detailed design in a short period of time. Then, when you are ready, we will install and test your network.

Installation Considerations
Your cabling system is important for performance, reliability and the security of your data. From decades of proven experience, LINKTECH understands the importance of a quality installation and considers your future needs and technologies during the design phase of your project. For this very reason, LinkTech is staffed with design engineers who are certified with both BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Services International) and RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer). Network Considerations
There are three primary types of network wiring:

		Twisted-pair The industry standard in new installations, this wire comes in several standards. Unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) Category 3 wire, often used for phone lines. UTP Category 5e and 6 wire are the current networking standards for voice, data, audio and video.
		Coaxial This cable resembles round cable television wiring.
		Fiber optic This cable is usually reserved for connections between "backbone" devices in larger networks, though in some very demanding environments, highly fault-resistant fiber-optic cable is used to connect desktop workstations to the network and to link to adjacent buildings. Fiber-optic cable is the most reliable wiring, but also the most expensive.

LINKTECH selects the right cabling for our customer's offices and buildings. We make sure that the wires running through ceilings and between walls can handle not only your present needs, but any upgrades you foresee in the next several years.

For example, Ethernet can use UTP Category 3 wiring. However, Fast Ethernet requires at least the higher-grade UTP Category 5e and 6 wiring. As a result, all new wiring installations should be Category 5e and 6. In some cases, we may explore fiber-to-the-desk. We work with your architect and/or review existing drawings to ensure that the cabling infrastructure is suitable for your environment and meets current standards and codes.
